About the Institute at the Golden Gate
Located in a beautiful setting at historic Fort Baker, the Institute at the Golden Gate offers an inspiring backdrop for learning and contemplation, collaborative dialogue and actions to address environmental challenges. A transformed military post at the entrance to San Francisco Bay, Fort Baker lies at the heart of the breathtaking Golden Gate National Parks, nestled by the world-famous Golden Gate Bridge, within a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and in the embrace of the Bay Area community renowned for its environmental leadership.Unparalleled accommodations and meeting spaces at Fort Baker are provided through Cavallo Point—the Lodge at the Golden Gate. Thanks to a special arrangement with the National Park Service, qualifying organizations may apply for the Complete Meeting Package rate, a special Institute rate for accommodations, meeting space, catering and basic meeting equipment at Cavallo Point.
The Institute is a program of the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, the nonprofit partner for the Golden Gate National Parks, in partnership with the National Park Service. The Parks Conservancy expresses its appreciation to the Marin Community Foundation and other donors who have contributed to the formation of the Institute.
